Loaded With Benefits

An overview of Bible Study from the book LOADED WITH BENEFITS, Living the Believers Life Privilege: Ten Weeks of Personal Study (Note-A journal is also available to accompany the book).

The greatest thing that has ever happened to us, as Christians, is that we have been given eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Savior, Who died, and was resurrected, all for us. However, many Christians live as if Christ came, died and was resurrected, and said, “I’ve done My part, I’ve given you eternal life, you are on your own now, do the best that you can, and I’ll see you in Heaven." The purpose of this Ten Weeks of Personal Study is to point the believer to the Scriptures that speak to us about God's presence with us in this journey, so that these Scriptures can encourage the believer. Many of the Scriptures will be referred to and written out several times throughout this study as they apply to the "benefit" being discussed. It is our prayer that this will aide you in hiding God's Word in your heart so that the "Sword of the Spirit" is readily available to you. Your challenge is to see if you can recall the Scripture and the "benefit" with which it was previously associated.

Each week you are to study a topic and meditate on and memorize the related Scriptures for the week. At the end of the Study Topic for each week is a Prayer with emphasis on giving thanks to our Father for all of His benefits. It is our prayer that you will develop a consistent attitude of thankfulness in obedience to God's command as given in 1 Thessalonians 5:18:  "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  Each week you will be given a passage of Scripture to read and meditate on. It is recommended that you read the passage of Scripture "twice a day every day" (morning and evening) during the week to aide you in developing the habit of meditating on God's Word, as instructed in Joshua 1:8: "This book of the law  shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Do not be surprised if you get a new understanding of a passage of Scripture each time you re-read it. You will be experiencing the Truth found in Lamentations 3:22-23: ". . . His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. . ."

Jesus declares in John14:16: "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever." And later in verse 26 of John 14, He tells us: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."  Jesus is ever present with us in the person of the Holy Spirit, to comfort guide and teach us, as we journey here on earth. You see, He knows all about the difficulties that we encounter in this journey. Jesus said in John 16:33: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." We are overcomers by the Blood of the Lamb (Revelations 12:11).

Jesus states in John 10:10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Yet, many of us let the thief steal our joy, instead of embracing all that we are, or can be through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Some of us are living significantly below our privilege. Our prayer is that through this study, you will be encouraged to strive to be all that you can be in Christ Jesus with the aide of the Holy Spirit.

As you read and meditate on the Scriptures, be reminded that our Father is speaking directly to you and allow Him to speak to your heart.
