Lord Jesus, thank You for the privilege that You have given us to call unto You when we are overwhelmed by events and situations in our daily lives. Thank You for your faithfulness in answering our cries to You for help.

 ²And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
 ³For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
 ⁴Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

Psalm 142:4-5; I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

Lord Jesus, I thank you that though men may fail us, you will always be there to care for us. Thank You for Your promise not to leave us or forsake us. Thank You for being our refuge from the storms of life.

 ¹I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.
 ²I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
 ³When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.
 ⁴I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
 ⁵I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
 ⁶Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
 ⁷Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
